A new block of flats adjacent to the listed former Clapham Station, this design won the council’s praise after an earlier attempt by others failed to win permission. This project exemplifies CAP’s approach to contextual design of new buildings in historic settings.
In close consultation with the Council’s design officers, CAP aimed to harmonise scale, materials and proportions, and followed English Heritage advice to avoid period copies when designing new buildings alongside historic ones.
