The 1950s block occupies a prominent site in Highgate. Built of inferior concrete bricks, with joinery in very poor condition, the client sought to repair, improve and extend. CAP developed a scheme for remodelling the block and adding 2 penthouse flats, creating a more attractive roof form and taking advantage of panoramic views over London. A 3D model showed how the completed building would look. The design was accepted by Council planners without amendment as enhancing conservation area character. Project Architect: Jim Garland
