Transformation of principal and other rooms in ancient listed house from sterile, featureless space to expression of late medieval structure, materials and features. This included removal of 1950s false brick and blockwork and restoration of 17th century fireplace, with specially made bricks to match originals. The concealed, surviving section of the fireplace provided the physical evidence needed to reproduce the missing part. English oak was used for the wide floorboards and a new green oak main beam. Finishes and soft furnishings form part of the ongoing project.
